Successful completion of all courses, including EDUC 418: School-based Extended Practicum, is a prerequisite to beginning the Community Field Experience (EDUC 430). Successful completion of EDUC 430 is a prerequisite to beginning summer session courses. This can only be waived in exceptional circumstances and after consultation with a program coordinator/manager and with permission of the Associate Dean, Teacher Education.
Teacher candidates are committed to 11 months of accelerated studies from September to July. There are no extended breaks scheduled. Vacations, weddings and personal events must not conflict with classes or practicum. Timetables may vary depending on cohort.
