All teacher candidates in the Bachelor of Education program must apply to graduate. Attendance at the graduation ceremony is optional.
November 2019 BEd Graduation
Teacher candidates completing the BEd program this July can now apply online for graduation. Application for November 2019 graduation is available on the SSC. The deadline to apply for graduation is September 15, 2019.
In order to receive the BEd degree, and be recommended to the Ministry of Education Teacher Certification Branch for certification, you must apply for graduation—even if you do not plan to attend the ceremonies.

Graduating from the Bachelor of Education Program
Teacher candidates who are eligible to graduate are recommended to the Ministry of Education Teacher Certification Branch (TCB) for certification in British Columbia.
If you are planning to teach outside of BC, check requirements in the jurisdiction involved as deadlines and requirements may be different.
Graduating from the Teacher Updating Program
Diploma in Education—Curriculum and Instructional Studies
Diploma completion: 30 credits
Applications must be submitted by September 15 in order to graduate in November.
- Consult with a program coordinator/manager to confirm successful completion of 30 credits of your diploma program.
- Diploma in Education graduates are invited to attend convocation in the Chan Centre in November. Full details are posted on graduation.ubc.ca .
