Graduating from the Bachelor of Education Program
All teacher candidates in the Bachelor of Education program must apply to graduate. Attendance at the graduation ceremony is optional.
Each teacher candidate must apply to graduate to have his or her degree conferred and to be eligible for recommendation for a teaching certificate. Applications to graduate for all programs and certificates are done online through Workday Student.
There are two required steps for graduation (see tutorial):
- Applying for Graduation and
- Applying for Program Completion.
Teacher candidates who are eligible to graduate are recommended to the Ministry of Education and Child Care (Teacher Regulation Branch) for certification in British Columbia. Read about teacher certification here.
If you are planning to teach outside of BC, check requirements in the jurisdiction involved as deadlines and requirements may be different.
