Elementary & Middle Years Registration Guide
2022/23 Bachelor of Education Program – 2023 Summer Session

Registration for Elementary & Middle Years Summer 2023 session opens:

Wednesday, February 22, 2023
1:30 p.m.

Register for two terms:

  1. Summer Session Term 1 – Community Field Experience: June 5 to June 23, 2023
  2. Summer Session Term 2 – July 4 to July 28, 2023

EDUC 418/419 – School-based Extended Practicum, which you are registered in for 2022 Winter Session Term 2, continues until June 2, 2023.

You will register in a cohort standard timetable for the summer session. The standard timetable contains all required courses for the summer session. You must register in the cohort standard timetable which corresponds to the cohort which you are currently registered in for the winter session.

You may choose to register in an optional elective in Summer Term 2. Details are under the Optional Electives tab below.

Registration Instructions

Step 1

Your registration date and time will be displayed on your Student Service Centre account two weeks prior to registration.

Step 2

You can create a worklist at students.ubc.ca/ssc by adding your cohort standard timetable and course sections.

Step 3

On your registration date, log in to the SSC and register in a selected worklist or add a standard timetable:

  1. Click "Course Schedule".
  2. Select "Session: 2023 Summer".
  3. Click "Browse > Standard Timetables".
  4. Select your program: "BEEM, Year 1".
  5. Click on the standard timetable for your cohort and the Register STT button
Step 4

  1. Click on "Registration > Timetable" to print your course schedule.
  2. Re-print the schedule in June in case changes have been made.
Step 5

Click on "Financial Summary" for information about deadlines for tuition and fee payment.

Optional Electives

You may choose to register in an optional elective in Summer Term 2. These courses are surplus to your degree requirements and will not replace any of your required courses. Therefore, there will be additional tuition fees assessed if you choose to register in any optional electives. Surplus courses can be applied to a TQS upgrade. Please note that this is optional, you are not required to register in an elective.

The chart below lists the optional electives available for registration in Term 2. You must meet any course prerequisites. Also, the course must not conflict with any of the required courses in your standard timetable.
