Successful completion of all courses, including EDUC 418: School-based Extended Practicum, is a prerequisite to beginning the Community Field Experience (EDUC 430). Successful completion of EDUC 430 is a prerequisite to beginning summer session courses. This can only be waived in exceptional circumstances and after consultation with a program coordinator/manager and with permission of the Associate Dean, Teacher Education.
Teacher candidates are committed to 11 months of accelerated studies from September to July. There are no extended breaks scheduled; teacher candidates attend classes during the Term 1 and 2 mid-term breaks. Vacations, weddings and personal events must not conflict with classes or practicum. Timetables may vary depending on cohort.
