2025 Summer Session registration opens Wednesday, February 26, 2025 | 1:30 p.m.
Please review the information below to help you navigate summer registration.
The TEO will register you in your cohort standard timetable for the summer session. The standard timetable contains all required courses for the summer session.
Teacher candidates will be registered for two terms:
- Summer Session Term 1 – Community Field Experience: June 9 to June 27, 2025
- Summer Session Term 2 – July 2 to July 25, 2025
EDUC 418/419 – School-based Extended Practicum, which you are registered in for 2024 Winter Session Term 2, continues until June 6, 2025.
You may choose to register in an optional elective in Summer Term 2. Details are under the Optional Electives tab below.
Advising is available from the Teacher Education Office throughout the program.
Registration Instructions
Step 1: TEO registers you in courses
The Teacher Education Office will register 11-month Elementary & Middle Years teacher candidates in the required courses for the 2025 Summer Session.
Step 2: Optional electives
Please note this step is optional. On your registration open date, register in any optional electives in Workday. Registration instructions are available at https://workday.students.ubc.ca/course-registration/.
Step 3: View course schedule
Log into Workday and go to Academics > Registration & Courses > View My Courses to view your course schedule. Check your schedule again in mid-June in case changes have been made.
Step 4: Financial summary
Go to the Finances app in Workday for information about deadlines for tuition and fee payment.
Step 5: Review contact info
Go to the Personal Information app in Workday to review your mailing and email addresses. Make sure they are correct.
Optional Electives
You may choose to register in an optional elective in Summer Term 2. These courses are surplus to your degree requirements and will not replace any of your required courses. Therefore, there will be additional tuition fees assessed if you choose to register in any optional electives. Surplus courses can be applied to a TQS upgrade. Please note that this is optional, you are not required to register in an elective.
The optional electives available for registration in Term 2 are listed below. You must meet any course prerequisites. Also, the course must not conflict with any of the required courses in your standard timetable.
