The Whistler Cantando Music Festival is a three-day, non-competitive band and choir festival that brings together schools from across Western Canada and Washington State. This year, the festival took place from May 4-7, 2017. Among the many festival assistants, there were 10 UBC helpers.
The festivities at Cantando included 90 ensembles with performances from band, choir, string, and jazz ensembles. There were also clinics and evening performances by the National Youth Band and M-pact. In total, approximately 2800 high school students attended the festival.
The Cantando in Whistler is an outstanding music festival and an amazing experience for UBC students.
