Scott Robertson joins the Teacher Education Office as interim Program Manager – Practicum (Secondary)

The Teacher Education Office is pleased to announce that Scott Robertson will share the role of interim Program Manager – Practicum (Secondary) effective August 1, 2023. Scott has represented each Faculty of Education department as a sessional instructor for the Bachelor of Education (BEd) program and the TEO as a faculty advisor. He is pleased to continue supporting teacher candidates in his new role.

Scott graduated from UBC with a BHK (Physical Education) (’98), a BEd (Secondary) (’00), and an MA in Curricular Studies (’03). Currently, he is a Doctoral Candidate with the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy, researching teacher autonomy within the relational dynamic of the student-teacher curricular relationship. He also has an ongoing interest in the roles and effects of mentoring, particularly in teacher education.

Scott enjoyed 17 years in the classroom as a Secondary English Language Arts teacher. He also has an extensive background in HOPE-related Physical Education, including more than thirty years in youth soccer as a coach and coach educator. He is also a very proud and devoted dad!
