The BC Ministries of Education and Advanced Education, Skills and Training announce a one-time contribution of $90,000 to support French teacher education at UBC’s Faculty of Education, effective 2018/19.
Dr. Wendy Carr, Associate Dean, Teacher Education, and Dr. Meike Wernicke, Lecturer, Department of Language & Literacy Education, proposed several initiatives to the government for the BEd program: a new course for language development, bursaries to support applicants at Institut de français prior to and Séjour UBC during the BEd program, and subsidy for students from France to enroll in the BEd program. Exciting news to boost the Faculty’s efforts in educating more French educators!
