The 2024/25 UBC BEd award nomination forms are open!
Teacher candidates are eligible for a number of scholarships and awards recognizing outstanding performance in coursework, practicum teaching, community field experiences, and the BEd program overall. Most awards come with financial remittance, and all awards strengthen a teacher candidate’s resume.
TCs can be nominated for an award by a faculty advisor or course instructor. Moreover, teacher candidates can self nominate as long as the self-nomination is supported by two separate referee nominations. Note, at least one of the referees must be a BEd course instructor.
Instructors, faculty advisors and teacher candidates are urged to review the list of BEd awards and application process page before submitting forms. These nominations help the BEd Awards Committee match BEd students to awards, distributing over $498,000 (in 2023/24).
