New Appointments in the TEO – Keith McPherson and Cynthia Clerc

Dr. Keith McPherson, Program Manager – Student Services (Elementary & Middle Years)

The Teacher Education Office is delighted to announce Dr. Keith McPherson’s new role as program manager in student services for the BEd elementary & middle years program. Keith has been with the Faculty of Education since 1998 working as a sessional instructor, instructor, faculty advisor, program coordinator, and admissions officer. As a TEO program coordinator, he has assisted more than 400 UBC teacher candidates engage in rich intercultural and inter-educational exchanges in over 100 destinations across 32 countries. Students and faculty will benefit greatly from his strong orientation to student support, faculty development, and program improvement.

Cynthia Clerc, Program Manager – Practicum & Field Experience (Secondary)

The Teacher Education Office welcomes Cynthia Clerc in her new role as program manager for secondary practicum and field experience. Cynthia is a proud alumna of UBC (BA, MEd). She had a long teaching career with the Coquitlam School District before working as a faculty advisor/instructor at UBC and as an FA and placement coordinator at SFU. She is bilingual and has a keen interest in mentoring relationships.
