Peer Mentors in Teacher Education

Peer mentors work with teacher candidates in all UBC teacher education program options to help the students set and meet their goals with planning for practicum in K-12 schools. They are available to meet TCs at various times during the day and after school, as well as on weekends by appointment. Appointments can be held online via Zoom or in person.

Teacher candidates can also connect with peer mentors in other ways, including via chat on the #UBCBEd2024 Teams or by visiting the Peer-to-Peer Support Discussion in the Navigating BEd Module in Canvas.

Peer mentors work alongside TEO Learning Design Managers Yvonne Dawydiak and Greta Bartsch. Check the Scarfe Digital Sandbox Calendar to see when the team members host regular office hours, workshops and consult sessions. Appointments can be made by emailing the team at scarfe.sandbox@ubc.ca.
