This cohort is new to the UBC Bachelor of Education program, starting in September 2022.
The newly developed EDI-D secondary cohort will support and inspire teacher candidates, and the students and mentors they work with, to explore, develop, and deepen curricular and pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning within the particular lenses of equity, diversity, inclusion and decolonization. Teacher candidates chosen to be participants in this cohort will engage with their peers in a cross-curricular Inquiry environment. Cohort practicum placements are scheduled to be in selected schools within the Richmond School District (SD 38).
There are limited seats available in the EDI-D cohort.
An online application will be available starting June 10, 2022. A link to the online application will be emailed to registered teacher candidates on June 10, 2022. Interested teacher candidates must complete the online application form no later than June 24, 2022.
Those applicants selected for the EDI-D cohort will be notified by email as will those who were not (and will proceed with the regular secondary program based on their teachable subject/s).
