On Friday, January 19, 2024, the Teacher Education Office hosts the annual Education Career Fair at UBC, the largest teacher recruiting event in BC. This year, the event will be held in person in the Great Hall of the AMS Student Nest.
Participation by UBC teacher candidates is not mandatory but highly encouraged. Most BEd classes are cancelled on this day so that TCs may attend the fair. At the Career Fair, UBC BEd students are given the unique opportunity to meet and present themselves to recruiting officers from school districts in BC and other provinces/territories, as well as independent and international recruiters.
3 Tips to Help UBC Teacher Candidates Prepare for the Career Fair:
1. Review the list of exhibitors:
- Research who’s coming to the Career Fair and prioritize which booths you want to visit in the time you’re given. Click here for the exhibitors’ booth numbers and map.
2. Get your 1-page resume ready:
- While some recruiters may interview teacher candidates on the spot or one-on-one in private on the day, many will have limited time to get to know you, so have your paper and digital copies ready to share!
3. Read the TC Q&As:
