2017 Murray Elliott Award for Outstanding Service to Teacher Education in the Faculty of Education

Dr. Marianne McTavish is the 2017 recipient of the Murray Elliott Service Award for Outstanding Service to the Teacher Education Program. Dr. McTavish sets the standard for high quality teaching in the Faculty of Education. She is a passionate, dedicated educator who believes deeply in the ability of teachers to improve both individual lives and the society at large. She is an extraordinary educator in both face-to-face and online environments as evidenced in the many courses she teaches and has coordinated in Early Childhood, Teacher Education and Literacy Education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Over many years, she has combined her acclaimed scholarship, her highly regarded professional leadership in the field, and her thoughtful and creative teaching to produce a deep and meaningful learning experience for her students.
