The Faculty of Education provides options for students who would like to take Education coursework but may not necessarily wish to be enrolled in a degree program.
Unclassified students are students taking courses with UBC after having already completed a prior bachelor’s degree. Visiting students are for those currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree at another institution and can present a Letter of Permission.
Note that our application form for non-degree studies is for students seeking to take coursework from the Faculty of Education. If you intend to take coursework from other faculties at UBC, please follow the steps here.
Transferring Credits to the Diploma in Education:
There are a few regulations about transferring credits that you need to be aware of if you are preparing to do so. Please review Transfer Credits on the OPL website, or contact a program manager in the Teacher Education Office for advising and approval.
Being admitted as an unclassified student or a visiting student does not guarantee enrolment in requested courses or admission to a degree program at UBC.
