Friday, October 23, 2026 is the annual provincial Professional Development Day for teachers.
On this day, schools across British Columbia close so teachers can take part in professional learning activities. Teacher candidates can enhance their practice and connect with colleagues at events online or in person.
A wide range of opportunities are available, including subject-specific conferences, workshops, and online sessions organized by professional associations and school districts. Some events are free for TCs, while others may require a registration or membership fee.
The TEO will share a selection of events below (TBA), and this page will be updated as more information becomes available. (Note: free events are indicated and at the top of the table.) Enter a keyword in the search bar (e.g., music, Richmond, math, etc.) to find related events.
Participation in a pro-d activity is mandatory for teacher candidates.
