Indigenous students who already have a degree and want to become a certified teacher can now complete a specialization in Indigenous Education prior to entering the 11-month BEd program.
NITEP now offers a condensed 15-credit specialization at the UBC Vancouver campus over the summer term. Students must meet all prerequisites prior to entering the 11-month BEd degree program.

- Courses and curricula enhanced through Indigenous perspectives including local Elders and knowledge keepers
- Learning alongside NITEP teacher candidates completing their BEd degree
