Due to COVID-19, teacher candidates in the 2019/20 Bachelor of Education program have had to quickly adapt their teaching and learning styles through the use of online platforms. We are showcasing some of the wonderful examples of projects created by them as part of the community field experience.

- This blog features content for my drawing and painting students at École Alpha, my inspirations, as well as resources on understanding failure in the educational setting. How to reframe failure as generative in (art) education was the inquiry question that I took into the long practicum. I found that the CFE was the perfect opportunity for me to share this question with others, hopefully gaining input from my peers to further develop this inquiry. Along the way, I will propose unit and lesson ideas working with the concept of failure as well.
- Did you face any particular challenges in the planning, making or delivery of this project?
- Many of the challenges are related to the technical aspects of building a blog, such as formatting and organization, post length, and image usage.
- How was the project received? Did anything surprise you about the outcome?
- The project has been received well and with interest.
- Can you tell us about a highlight of creating this remote lesson plan?
- A specific example would be finding materials around the home to make the assignments for my students more accessible. When I shared the experiments with them, they were interested and surprised by what they could achieve with common materials from around the home.
