Due to COVID-19, teacher candidates in the 2019/20 Bachelor of Education program have had to quickly adapt their teaching and learning styles through the use of online platforms. We are showcasing some of the wonderful examples of projects created by them as part of the community field experience.

- Social and emotional learning (SEL)
- Tell us about your project!
- In discussion with the school principal, the idea of a blog focusing on social-emotional learning activities came about. This blog is a collection of playful learning ideas for school-aged children. The learning ideas will focus on social, emotional, physical, and intellectual well-being. The activities and ideas will be budget-friendly, connection-focused, and require limited technology. They can be done at home or at school. Approximately three activities will be posted per week.
- Did you face any particular challenges in the planning, making or delivery of this project?
- There were some challenges in determining which website platform we should use. Once we decided to use Google Sites, there was also a bit of a learning curve in navigating the platform.
- How was the project received? Did anything surprise you about the outcome?
- The project is in its early stages, so we are waiting to see how it is received!
- Can you tell us about a highlight of creating this remote lesson plan?
- One highlight was working with each other to generate ideas for activities. It is a great team to collaborate with!
