Due to COVID-19, teacher candidates in the 2019/20 Bachelor of Education program have had to quickly adapt their teaching and learning styles through the use of online platforms. We are showcasing some of the wonderful examples of projects created by them as part of the community field experience.

- Tell us about your project!
- People around the world are all affected differently through the pandemic. I would like to use this project as an opportunity for people of all ages to access as an outlet for their personal growth and creativity. This project will aim to strengthen vocal and choral music teaching skills in schools as well as gain a community of artists on the path to musicianship.
- Did you face any particular challenges in the planning, making or delivery of this project?
- One challenge I faced was being able to edit videos efficiently. In order to create and provide the highest quality videos, I downloaded Final Cut Pro onto my computer. Final Cut Pro is a great program to use, however there comes many challenges in video editing and production! However, I grew to enjoy the process and learn from all the hiccups along the way.
- How was the project received? Did anything surprise you about the outcome?
- The project was well received, to my surprise one of my tutorials hit 2.2K views in one week! It was a great feeling knowing that I was helping not only my students but many other people around the globe.
- Can you tell us about a highlight of creating this remote lesson plan?
- Exploring different lesson topics and trying something new was a big highlight of this project! I enjoyed being able to create music lessons that were relatable to the students.
