Due to COVID-19, teacher candidates in the 2019/20 Bachelor of Education program have had to quickly adapt their teaching and learning styles through the use of online platforms. We are showcasing some of the wonderful examples of projects created by them as part of the community field experience.

- What is the name of the community partner or group you are working with?
- Sunnyside Elementary School/UBC Blogs
- What is your project’s subject area(s)?
- Online elementary education
- Tell us about your project!
- I’ve compiled all the material I’ve created since spring break into a public space and organized it into digestible sections designed to linearly provide resources for teachers moving more into online spaces.
Sections of this project are broken up into different areas of online education, personal experiences, and links to dozens of original instructional materials, lesson plans, and videos, many created specifically because of COVID-19.
The project shows precisely what software I used to make everything, and provides all the resources in multiple formats to maximize compatibility and accessibility.
- Did you face any particular challenges in the planning, making or delivery of this project?
- It was hard to come up with the idea for this project. I tried to incorporate as much of my technological experience in it as I could and I learned some things along the way.
- Can you tell us about a highlight of creating this remote lesson plan?
- Recording the videos was an enjoyable experience, and holding online conferences is fun too.
- What media did you use to create your project?
- There are many and they are referred to in the project itself.
- Where can we view your project?
