A message to teacher candidates from the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy Science and Mathematics Outreach Committee:

We hope you had a great start to the year and you are excited about the program. As we are getting ready to celebrate UBC’s 100th birthday, we are planning a very special event—the biggest math and science outreach event in our Faculty. It is becoming a great tradition in our Faculty and an opportunity for the teacher candidates, graduate students, staff and faculty members to collaborate on bringing math and science to the larger community. The event is generously supported by the Dean’s Office, the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy and the Teacher Education Office.

IMG_2329-cropped-lrThis year our 5th Family Math and Science Day takes place on Sunday, October 18. We want to make sure it happens well before secondary teacher candidates embark on their two-week practicum and we hope both elementary and secondary teacher candidates would want to volunteer.

See what we have done in the past.

Please let us know if you would like to be a part of the event by responding to a very short survey. Please respond to the survey if you are IN! We are a great team and we need all the support we can get!

Sincerely,
Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy Science and Mathematics Outreach Committee
Marina Milner-Bolotin and Cynthia Nicol (Co-Chairs of the event)
