Special Circumstances Form For Secondary Practicum & Teacher Updating Program

Please fill out this form, providing details of your special circumstance.

The Teacher Education Office will do its best to arrange school placements with teacher candidate/teacher updater’s special circumstances in mind, but please be aware that not all special circumstances can be accommodated.

The following are not considered special circumstances:

  • Employment (it is suggested that students give their full attention to the school practicum)
  • No automobile (car pools and public transport are alternatives and are often less stressful)
  • General preference for placement in a certain district. Placements are limited and cannot be guaranteed in any given district.

Please feel free to speak directly with John Yamamoto, Program Coordinator – Practicum & Field Experience (Secondary), prior to the determination of practicum placements to discuss your situation.

Forms should be returned NO LATER than the end of the second week of classes in September.
