1. What is this?

An opportunity to specialize in teaching subjects for grades 8-12 in a 12-month option that begins in September and ends in the following August. You need to qualify for and choose one-to-two teaching subject specializations.

2. Do I have to have or be eligible for a degree to be considered for this option?

You may apply with a completed degree of 120 credits while meeting the academic entrance requirements for a secondary teaching specialization(s).

3. Do you require transcripts?

Yes, we require transcripts for all of your post-secondary studies. If you were a UBC student, you do not have to send us a transcript.

4. How is this option different from the 12-month Elementary option?

This option prepares you to teach secondary grade levels with one-to-two teaching subject specializations.

5. If I’m not able to accept the Letter of Offer of Admission for the program year I’ve applied, will I be able to use it for the following year(s)?

The offer of admission for September of a given year is for the program commencing in that year only. We can save your referee reports and transcripts for one year if you wish to re-apply to the following admission year.
