Have you met the
entrance requirements?
Choose a session. I've chosen a session. I'm ready to apply.
Step 3: 12-Month Middle Years Option, September Session (Grades 6-9)

Vancouver Campus

1. What is this?

An opportunity to specialize in teaching grades 6-9 in a 12-month option that begins in September and ends in the following August. You need to qualify for and choose a teaching subject specialization in one of four areas: English, Social Studies, Science, or Physical Education.

2. Do I have to have or be eligible for a degree to be considered for this option?

You may apply with a completed degree of 120 credits. For your teaching specialization, you must meet the entrance requirements for your subject as described above.

3. Do you require transcripts?

Yes, we require transcripts for all of your post secondary studies. If you were a UBC student, you do not have to send us a transcript.

4. How is this option different from the 12-month Elementary option?

This option prepares you to teach elementary and secondary grade levels with a teaching subject specialization.

5. If I’m not able to accept the Letter of Offer of Admission for the program year I’ve applied, will I be able to use it for the following year(s)?

The offer of admission for September of a given year is for the program commencing in that year only. We can save your referee reports and transcripts for one year if you wish to re-apply to the following admission year.
