Position Description:

The Teacher Education Office at UBC invites applications from teacher educators with
expertise and experience in the International Baccalaureate–Diploma
Programme for a twelve-month part-time (60-80%) seconded position commencing in
late August 2019 with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years. The
successful candidate will work with teacher candidates in the International Baccalaureate
–Diploma Programme Option in Vancouver, North Vancouver and West Vancouver as
well as other districts.

Candidates must have a Master’s degree, at least 5 years of teaching in a school setting,
experience acting as school advisor for teacher candidates, excellent communication skills
and a minimum of Level 1 International Baccalaureate credentialing. Teaching experience
in an IB school setting is an asset.

Responsibilities include acting as an instructor and co-facilitator for three IB seminars and
teacher inquiry courses and as a faculty advisor during school practica. UBC provides
orientation, and support for instructors who are new to teaching at the university level.
Courses are held at the UBC Point Grey campus.
