What is Middle Years teaching all about?

UBC’s BEd Middle Years Program is explained by

Teaching in the middle years is about the excitement of helping 10 to 14 year olds learn. Guiding students on the journey from childhood to adolescence is a process that is never dull; it is filled with questions, challenges, thoughtful discussions, emotional outbursts, new beginnings, laughter and fun.

What are Cohorts?

All UBC Teacher Education program options provide teacher candidates with the same coursework and practica experiences to meet and excel in the standards of the teaching profession (elementary, middle years and secondary). while you are in our Teacher Education program, you are organized into cohorts (learner groups). As you learn about the teaching profession, you have the opportunity to join an educational thematic cohort where seats are available.
