What Is It?

A UBC Diploma in Education is a 30-credit UBC-conferred post degree diploma which provides teachers and others qualified with specialization coursework for advancement in positions and in qualification categories. Diplomas are completed within a 5 year time frame. If students begin their coursework as an unclassified student, they may advance transfer 12 non-UBC credits, or 18 UBC credits into their Diploma program.

UBC Education Certificate Programs offered both regionally (face-to-face) and online. For a list of current Certificate programs, visit External Programs & Learning Technologies. Information is provided as to pre-requisites, how to apply, how to manage your distance ed courses, contact information, and more! Certificate programs are 15-credits, and provide professionals with post degree credits to provide a basic foundation in an area of specialization, including two graduate certificates. You may combine two 15-credit certificate programs to gain the 30 credits required for advancement to TQS Category 5+. Check with TQS for requirements.

The Canadian Association for School Health and its partners in the Canadian School Health Knowledge Network are pleased to launch a series of webinars on comprehensive school health (CSH) and health promoting schools (HPS).
UBC Vancouver Senate approves a special Reading Week extension in 2010. UBC Vancouver campus students will receive a mid-term break extension during Term 2 in 2010 to two weeks instead of the usual one week.
The 2009/2010 Reading Break will be held Mon, Feb 15 - Fri, Feb 26, 2010.
*Note: Does not apply to Secondary BEd teacher candidates on extended practicum at that time, and who need to follow the break schedules as set out by their school districts.
