2016 Faculty of Education Animal Rescue Used Book Sale

book-sale-2016

Every year the Faculty of Education holds a one day book sale to raise proceeds for animal rescue charities in the Lower Mainland. Donated books are sold in the Scarfe foyer at reasonable prices to students, staff and faculty. Everybody benefits — especially the animals who are the important recipients of our good will.

Last year, we raised $950 which was distributed amongst 10 animal rescue shelters. In the 16 years that the Faculty has held the book sale, a grand total of $9,850 has been raised. All proceeds go to no-kill shelters in the Lower Mainland.

Donations can be dropped off in the Teacher Education Office. Gently used books, dvds, and magazines will be happily received.

For details, please contact the TEO at 604 822 5242 or teacher.ed@ubc.ca.

The TEO would like to acknowledge Maureen Shepherd who started the book sale 16 years ago. Upon her retirement in 2014, the TEO promised to continue the sale on her behalf. Thank you, Maureen!
