Teacher Education Office (TEO) Home
UBC’s Faculty of Education provides teacher education program options for individuals at a variety of stages of their professional teaching careers: teacher candidates, working teachers, teachers who require updating for recertification purposes, and teachers who received their education at non-Canadian institutes. We also welcome individuals who wish to take courses and who are visitors to UBC.
Our programs are critically reflective in nature, integrating theory, practice and experience to prepare professional educators for their various teaching specializations. UBC’s teacher education programs aim to address the needs of ongoing development of children and adolescents in classrooms in both local and global contexts. UBC’s teacher graduates are viewed as change agents for social justice who conduct themselves with excellence in professional standards and who contribute to groundbreaking research in education.
